It's almost here!!!
Our 2nd festival will be a celebration of spinning, weaving, knitting, crochet, felting and all things fiber related. This year the Upper Valley Fiber Festival will be held on May 10, 2008 from 9am-6pm in the Junior Fair Building of the Miami County Fairgrounds. The change in buildings this year means that we have more spaces for vendors, both inside and out.
This just in: We have booked Mr. Allread and his herding dogs for demonstrations at this years' festival. If you have been to the Wool Gathering in Yellow Springs, you have seen him, his dogs and ducks in action. It really is a sight to see! Kids absolutely love watching this demonstration! Here are some pictures of his crew in action..
There will also be a Sheep to Shawl demonstration by the Society for Creative Acronism. They will demonstrate the process of preparing wool, spinning it into yarn and then weaving it into cloth using a loom.
We will also have a Llama and Alpaca Obstacle Course set up and there will be demonstrations at 10am, 1pm, and 4 pm.

From I-75, take exit 78. Turn south (right from both directions). Approx. 3 miles on the right are the Miami County Fairgrounds. We will have plenty of signs to show where to enter and park!
The Junior Fair Building is building number 25. Our second building, the Art Hall is building number 24.
